Do you with me??

Never be tought to say they are saved

Try to think about this..

Why is it that we seem to have a God that can save us from sins once they are committed, but does not seem to be able to save us from the sins we are about to commit. I can bow my head and ask for forgiveness from a harmful deed that is done, past, and totally irretrievable, and expect that, despite that the fact that the sin is past and irretrievable, that God has complete power over the sin, and me, and can obliterate my accountability in the affair and also bring true healing to all that the sin has touched. This is awesome. This ability to completely handle the problem of sin after it has occurred is true power. But now, I rise up off my knees from this forgiveness and cleansing session, I go out the door and into the new day and face new opportunities to sin . . . and as much as I try to avoid it, I will find myself taking advantages of these new opportunities.

Why can’t God help me handle these sins before they happen instead of helping me handle them after they happen. Wouldn’t a God who can only handle sins after the deed is done be kind of wimpy? Wouldn’t it be far better to solve these problems before they happen rather than waiting until after they happen? And, if He can help me take care of sins before they happen, then how many of those sins can he help me take care of before they happen and how would this affect the life that I live and the gospel I preach?

Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people? This is a question that has been asked for centuries. The best answer that I have found is to look at the bigger picture. We are in a war and we live in a sinful world. Unfortunately, in a war...casualties happen. To some extent God takes responsibility because He has allowed it to go on so that sin will not come up again and to allow everyone to be able to choose if they will serve Him. The Bible does say that God will bless us if we serve Him.

At the same time when we serve God, that automatically makes us targets of Satan who is out to destroy us...both our current life and future salvation. On a personal level, maybe God is using us like He did Job to demonstrate that we will still serve Him when bad things happen to us. Maybe God is using the bad things in life to help us GROW. Job actually got God to talk to him and he never did get an answer. These are the best answers that I know of and they don't always help the pain when going through loss...but they do give a reason for it.
